Account Changes

Account Agreements

Effective June 1, 2025, your Member Service Agreement for both Consumer and Business accounts will be updated to modernize the language and reflect current practices.

Digital Banking
  • Credit Cards Will Have Names Instead of Numbers. Purchase and payment history on your credit card will be found in Cards.
  • Account Name Changes. Currently, you may see a joint owner or a business name next to the account title. If you want an account to be easily identifiable, give it a nickname. For example: Vacation, Taxes, Joint Checking. To do this, click Settings then Account Preferences.
  • Check Images. Any checks written before June 2 may not include a check image in Digital Banking. While we are working to resolve this, if you need a copy of a check, call/text us, come to any branch, or use InRoads LIVE.
  • Automatic Transfers. If you have automatic transfers scheduled over the upgrade weekend, they will process on Monday, June 2.
  • Shared Access Will Need To Be Re-Established. If you share your account details with others, such as an accountant, you will need to set up that connection again after June 1.
How Dividends are Calculated

InRoads currently uses an Average Daily Balance to calculate dividends. This method looks at your entire account history for the month, adding up all the end of day balances and dividing by 30 to get an average balance. The dividend is then calculated based on this average daily balance.

Following the technology upgrade, this will switch to a Daily Balance method. Dividends will be calculated on each day’s ending balance, then all daily dividends will be added together to determine total dividends for the month.

Membership and Account Numbers
  • Membership numbers are getting some updates.
If you currently have more than one membership, all of your accounts that include the same account owners will be consolidated under one membership number. This will be your oldest membership number where you are the primary member.
  • Your account numbers will be changing.
However, everything else will remain the same, including: Digital Banking login, checks, debit card, direct deposit, and ACH withdrawals. To ensure your accounts remain easily identifiable within Digital Banking, be sure to nickname your accounts before May 30. This can be done by navigating to Settings and then Account Preferences.

A Note From Our President

Dear Valued Member,

Technology is constantly changing. Most smartphones require constant updates. After a few years, those phones become obsolete. Computer systems might have a longer shelf life, but they work in roughly the same way. The InRoads legacy core processing computer system, which has been running the credit union for many years, is nearly too old to be updated. Yes, our systems are working, but there’s no room for expansion or growth.

Among our core values is innovation. Specifically, InRoads continuously strives to deliver innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our members, embracing technology and forward-thinking ways to enhance your experience at your credit union. To fulfill that core value, a technology upgrade is needed. This will allow us to leverage emerging technologies and deliver a more streamlined banking experience that’s safe and secure while also efficient and upgradable for many years to come.

That’s the good news. However, as with any technology upgrade, there will be some service interruptions. While the technology upgrade will happen behind the scenes, it will require some brief disruptions over the weekend of May 30 – June 1 (Friday to Sunday), prior to the system upgrade going live on June 2 (Monday). Rest assured, the InRoads team will be working around the clock to ensure everything goes as planned and you experience as little downtime as possible.

I’d like to apologize upfront for any inconvenience this upgrade may cause. Additionally, I’d like to thank you for your patience. Following this technology upgrade, we’ll be updating our website as well as Digital Banking to a more modern look and feel – I am confident you will be happy with the results.

Please keep this Technology Upgrade Resource Guide nearby. In it, you’ll find information about any account changes that may affect you, details on service interruptions and how to access your money while the credit union is performing the upgrade, as well as what to expect on Monday, June 2.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make these necessary upgrades to your credit union. If you have questions, please call/text 503.397.2376, use InRoads LIVE, or stop by any branch.

FAQs

A core processing system upgrade involves the operating software that runs the credit union. Essentially, it’s like replacing the operating software on your home computer, with a similar outcome – faster processing and more reliability. The user experience is better and more efficient.

Providing our members with the best banking experience possible is very important to InRoads. This technology upgrade enables us to provide a more efficient and streamlined experience by optimizing both our security capabilities as well as operating efficiency.

During the upgrade, your InRoads debit cards will continue to work at retailers, gas stations, and more, with some purchases being limited, and your credit cards will not be affected. However, Digital Banking, InRoads LIVE, and branch access will not be available from May 30 at 4:00pm through June 1.

Yes. Your accounts, loans, and money will be safe during the upgrade process, and as always, backed by the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) Share Insurance Fund.
