$30,000 Donated to Local Charities and Schools

ST. HELENS, Ore., January 12, 2016: In an effort to give back and support the local community, St. Helens Community has announced total contributions of $29,949.45 to local charities and schools in 2015.

Over 50 local organizations received funding including CASA, Columbia Humane Society, Columbia Pacific Food Bank, Toy & Joy, Amani Center, and more. Additionally, thousands were donated to local schools, sports programs, and academic achievement initiatives.

“This is a wonderful community,” stated St. Helens Community President and CEO, Brooke Van Vleet. “It’s an honor to be part of the lives of so many families and local businesses.”

St. Helens Community Credit Union (shcu.org) is proud to be the area’s longstanding not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. Membership is open to families and businesses throughout Columbia, Clatsop, and Cowlitz Counties as well as Sauvie Island, Oregon
