ST. HELENS, Ore. April 27, 2016: St. Helens Community Credit Union launches their Go Local app that brings discounts to members at nearly 50 Columbia County businesses.

The free smartphone app, available from the Apple Store and Google Play Store, pushes instant offers and discounts to members based on their current proximity to area merchants. If a member does not have a smartphone, Go Local discounts can be found online at shcu.org/golocal.

“All members need to do is shop like they normally do,” stated St. Helens Community President and CEO, Brooke Van Vleet. “If there is a discount nearby, Go Local will tell them about it. Then, members just use their St. Helens Community debit or credit card to get the discount.”

Local merchants include Fultano’s Pizza, Dahlgren’s Building Supply, Houlton Bakery, SHG St. Helens Grill, Zingti Massage, and a long list of other area businesses.

“I’ve already heard from many local businesses owners who feel Go Local will be a huge success,” said Chamber Director, Natasha Parvey-Leskowich. “This is a great opportunity for businesses throughout the region.”

Similar apps have already earned positive reviews from credit union members across the country. In addition to local discounts, the app can also be used to store and manage discount cards for companies and organizations such as AARP and more.
