St. Helens Community Announced as Business of the Year

ST. HELENS, Ore., March 2, 2015: St. Helens Community Credit Union has been awarded the 2014 South Columbia County Chamber Business of the Year.

The award is a great honor for any local business, given based on contributions to the local economy and overall community. In addition to accomplishments and support, the award examines leadership and business growth.

“It’s a true honor to be recognized for our hard work,” Brooke Van Vleet, President and CEO of St. Helens Community said about the award. “This is a great accomplishment for everyone involved with St. Helens Community, from the tellers and loan officers, to our volunteers, and members. We’re all helping make a difference in Columbia County, helping families and local business thrive and prosper.”

St. Helens Community received the award based on its scholarship opportunities, financial literacy programs and training for youth (including student teller programs at the local high schools). It was also recognized for its volunteer efforts and financial support of many local non-profit organizations in the community.
