InRoads Credit Union Earns Federally Recognized
Community Development Certification

ST. HELENS, Ore., February 11, 2022: InRoads Credit Union has been certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Treasury Department. The designation is granted to organizations whose primary mission is to promote community development and is designed to generate economic growth and opportunity to regions that might be distressed. With this certification, InRoads has access to apply for millions in CDFI Fund grants that can be used to support financially vulnerable families and small businesses.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for InRoads to help those affected by the economic downturn and more,” stated Brooke Van Vleet, InRoads President/CEO. “We appreciate the opportunity to provide even more support to those who need it.”

The CDFI Fund was established in 1994 to boost lending and community development through certified CDFI lenders, allowing them to expand their reach into economically distressed areas and underserved communities.

InRoads Credit Union (inroadscu.org) is proud to be a not-for-profit, community-focused, member-owned financial cooperative that’s open to anyone who lives, works, attends school, volunteers, or worships in Columbia, Clatsop, Cowlitz, Multnomah, and Washington Counties. Membership is also available to those with immediate family who are existing InRoads members, including a spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, or sibling.
